Research fellow program
The aim of the SFI research fellow program is to facilitate research networking by supporting ongoing collaborations with researchers outside SFI, especially those based abroad. This will make existing collaborations more visible, both within and outside SFI, and help make continuing to work together easier.
We will help with access to survey and register data from fellow’s home institution for specific research projects. In the first instance this should be together with an SFI researcher, but thereafter the fellow can pursue projects on their own if they wish, subject to data protection agency approval. Fellows will be encouraged to visit regularly, present their work at SFI seminars, informally discuss work-in-progress with SFI researchers and comment on the occasional working paper or grant proposal. Fellows should acknowledge their SFI Research Fellow affiliation alongside their other positions and are encouraged to submit work-in-progress to the SFI working paper series where appropriate.
How to join the program? Research fellows should be collaborating with SFI researchers, or have been doing so in the recent past. The SFI research group closest to the candidate fellow’s main interests gets to nominate candidates. After review, fellows will be appointed for 3 year terms.
