The incidence of maternity leave: the Maternity Fund as a natural experiment

Del
The incidence of maternity leave: the Maternity Fund as a natural experiment This project aims at contributing to two strands of literature: (1) that on statistical discrimination in the labour market and (2) that on the labour market consequences of maternity for women with respect to wages and employment. The empirical strategy of the project is to trace the effect of a policy reform that has presumably reduced discrimination in the private sector against women in their reproductive years while leaving other groups in the labour market unaffected. Danish micro-data makes it possible to either reject or accept the existence of statistical discrimination against women in the Danish labour market before the reform.
